Step 1
First you need to decide for what purpose you will need a weapon. If it is in order to simply swing at your leisure with a friend, then a wooden one will also go, you will hurt less. If you want to reconstruct an authentic 15th century sword or participate in a medieval knight's tournament, then you will have to forge a metal sword. Then you need to take care of durable armor.
Step 2
So you've decided to make a wooden sword. You go to the store and buy beech or oak planks - these trees are sturdy and work best for your first game sword.
Step 3
You are looking for a diagram of the weapon that you need to make on the Internet. There are a lot of them on the sites of historical reconstruction. Draw it on a beech board.
Step 4
Carefully cut your future sword along the contour with a jigsaw and then make a guard. A pine blank is best suited for the guard. The guard can be made from two halves, or cut completely. Then you polish your sword with a file and sandpaper.
Step 5
Glue the guard to the sword, for example, with supermoment glue. For the convenience of future use, we glue electrical tape or a leather cord on the handle and guard of the sword. That's it, your weapon is ready - you can fight!
