This cold-loving fish inhabits clean rivers and lakes, preferring reservoirs with pebble and rocky bottom. To catch grayling you need special tackle and skills; catching it is quite difficult.

Step 1
Before you fly fishing for grayling, you need to prepare your tackle. You need to choose a light rod, its length should be about 2, 2-2, 7 m. If you fish on a small river or in a stream, then you need to take a shorter rod, if long casts are needed, then the length of the rod should be longer.
Step 2
Then you need to decide what kind of fly you will catch. The choice of the line with which the fly fishing tackle will be equipped depends on this. If you plan to catch grayling with a "dry" fly, then you need to use only floating lines of the 5-7th class of severity. If a "wet" front sight is used in the tackle, then you need to put a floating line with a sinking end.

The leash is usually tied from a fishing line with a diameter of 0.15-0.2 mm. But when using a front sight with a hook No. 2, 5 and less, it is recommended to tie on a leash from a fishing line with a diameter of 0, 12 mm. Thicker leashes are placed when it is supposed to play grayling weighing 1 kg or more, or if the conditions for playing are poor. The undergrowth is made up according to the same principle. In case of wind, you need to put a short undergrowth, otherwise the accuracy of the casts is significantly reduced.

Then you need to take several different flies with you and go fishing. It must be remembered that when fishing with fly fishing or spinning during the course, the grayling bites very sharply and is spotted by itself, that is, there is no need to do a sweep. If fishing takes place on an even course, then the fisherman should be very careful. It is best to hook the grayling at the very beginning, when it appears near the front sight, you cannot be late. If the fisherman waits for the moment when he already feels the bite on the jerk of the rod, then the hook may no longer work.
Step 5
When playing, grayling does not try to go into stones or grass, but keeps in open water. Therefore, playing can not be forced. You can safely bring the grayling to the intended place, and then take the fish with your hand or with a landing net.
