Step 1
Pike perch's favorite places are passes, whirlpools, pits, curbs and groins. You should look for this predator in places with a large difference in depth. It happens that pike perch bites in shallow water. Check out the peaceful fish sites, as the predator often comes here for prey as well. The optimal time of the year for catching pike perch is the first decade of June, since after spawning, this fish starts the most active rye.
Step 2
There are several ways to catch pike perch on the Volga (jig, plumb line). Fishing in a plumb line is quite simple, for this you need the simplest spinning rod with a reel, strong fishing line (preferably braid) and a heavy load. Use strips of fish meat or fry as bait. Slowly swim up on the boat to the pike-perch parking area and lower the heavy load, to which hooks with bait are already attached, tap the bottom. As a rule, pike perch will not want to miss such a tasty bait.
Step 3
The extra heaviness when the rod is lifted indicates that the predator is caught on the hook. Pike perch, unlike other fish species, practically does not resist when rising from a depth. Only when approaching the surface of the water does the fish begin an active struggle for its life. With a sharp jerk, the pike perch can tear off the hook along with the bait, so at this moment you cannot do without catching.

Jigging for walleye. This lure is reckless and mobile, therefore it will not leave indifferent pike perch. The fishing technique is as follows: throw a spinning rod with a weighted jig head and bait. Wait until it reaches the bottom and start pulling the line in two turns of the reel. Pause until the bait is back on the bottom and pull the line back two turns. If, during the next pull-up, the tip of the spinning rod deviates and there is a blow to the hand, you can be sure that the pike perch is on the hook, it remains to make a sweep, pull up the line and get the fish with a net.

The morning dawn is the best time for fishing. Only the awakened predator is active and hungry. You should have a lot of different lures, vibrotails and twisters with you. The pike-perch that has gone out to hunt easily tears off the tails of silicone baits. Often, this predator is capricious and lazy, so you have to experiment with baits, their color and shapes in order to stir up the lazybones.
