Year skirts have been a hit of both summer and winter seasons for several years. This style is perfect for any figure, it looks very impressive and allows you to visually lengthen your legs. Even if you have wide hips and wide waist, a one-piece skirt made of fabric with vertical or horizontal stripes will visually lengthen your figure and make you slimmer. A simple cut and the ability to use any fabric allow you to easily sew such a skirt yourself.

It is necessary

  • - Fabric (linen, silk, wool, satin) - 3 m with a width of 90 cm;
  • - Zipper;
  • - Button for the color of the fabric with a diameter of 1 cm;
  • - Paper for patterns.

Instructions

Step 1

Build a base skirt pattern using your own measurements. The length of a year-skirts is usually 70-75 cm, but if you want, you can make it shorter.

Step 2

On the pattern, set aside 25-30 cm from the hip line and draw a horizontal line at the delayed distance. Divide the line of the hips in half on the front and back panels and draw a vertical line through this mark. Transfer the darts to it.

Step 3

Along the bottom of each of the four resulting wedges, set aside 15-20 cm to the right and left. Draw the outlines of the wedges, slightly rounding them along the hem.

Step 4

Transfer each wedge to the pattern paper individually, make a pattern, lay it on the fabric, and cut it out. Do not forget to leave 1.5 cm seam allowances on the sides and at the waist, 3 cm on the hem of the skirt.

Step 5

From the remaining fabric, make a belt pattern - cut out a 7 cm wide rectangle plus 1 cm seam allowances on each side. In length, it will be equal to the width of the waist plus 3 cm for the fastener.

Step 6

Baste and stitch all side seams of the skirt, excluding the center back seam. Steam all seams and iron them with an iron, process seam allowances. Sew a hidden zipper into the back seam, iron and finish it.

Step 7

Tuck, mark and stitch the bottom of the skirt, sew in the belt, cut and overcast the loop on the fastener allowance, sew on a button.
