The chipmunk is a small rodent very similar to a squirrel. It differs from her in that his tail is not so fluffy, and dark stripes run along the back. You can draw a chipmunk with a pencil in the same sequence as a squirrel.
Where does the chipmunk live?
It is better to portray the chipmunk in profile. In this perspective, you can convey all of its characteristic features. The sheet can be positioned as you like. Before you start drawing the animal figurine, think about where it will sit. For example, on a snag. Mark the position of this driftwood with a curved line. Draw its outlines. There are no strict rules here, such an object can have the most bizarre shape.
The proportions of a baby chipmunk are slightly different from those of an adult. He has a slightly larger head and a thinner tail.
Torso and head
Consider a picture of a chipmunk. Imagine in what geometric shapes you can fit the individual parts of his body. The body, together with the legs, is a rather wide oval. When a chipmunk sits on a snag, its back goes almost parallel to the branch, but its convex part is directed upwards. Draw such an oval and outline its long axis. As for the head, it also represents a narrower and shorter oval, the long axis of which is located to the long axis of the large oval at an angle of 135 °.
The chipmunk, like any rodent, turns its head, so that its position changes. The specified angle occurs only if the animal sits relatively calmly.
Muzzle, ears, eyes
In the chipmunk, all parts of the muzzle are ovals of different sizes. Ears are small wide ovals, the long axes of which are located strictly vertically in this perspective. The eyes are about the same size as the ears, and the same shape, only the long axes lie horizontally. Of course, the animal sitting sideways to the viewer has only one eye visible. One ear can be seen well, from the other - only an edge.
Paws and tail
Draw the belly for the chipmunk. Its edge goes just above the bottom contour line of the oval. Slightly round the corner between the abdomen and chin, and hide the place where the ovals of the torso and head meet. Draw the legs. The chipmunk has a luxurious thick coat, so only legs below the knee joint and legs with sharp claws are visible, with which the animal tightly covers the snag.
Wool, tail, stripes
Draw the tail. It is quite long in the chipmunk, equal to the length of the body and head combined. The tail can be absolutely straight, slightly curved, lifted up and even coiled. To complete the drawing, paint the fur with long strokes going in different directions. On the muzzle, the hairs go from the eye in different directions, on the body - from the neck to the tail, on the tail - symmetrically about the axis, from the body to the tip. Don't forget to draw dark stripes along the back.
