Hand-made leather jewelry is becoming more and more popular, especially since many can find the material for their manufacture. These can be old boots, bags, belts, or gloves. Make a brooch from leather items you no longer need.
Round brooch
A leather brooch, decorated with fur and beads, resembles the national jewelry of the northern peoples. You can pin it on the lapel of a coat or jacket, decorate a hat or pin a scarf. To make a round brooch you will need:
- a piece of dark skin;
- a strip of fur;
- beads;
- cardboard;
- pin or brooch lock;
- threads;
- glue "Moment";
- scissors;
- a needle;
- threads to match the skin.
Cut out a circle 5-7 cm in diameter from cardboard (its size depends on the desired size of the brooch). Pierce the circle with a pin. Cut a similar part from a piece of leather. Line the middle of the leather circle with a beaded pattern, leaving 2-3 mm free to the edge. Sew on the beads.
Apply Moment glue to the wrong side of the leather part, let it dry a little and glue the circle to the cardboard so that the fastener is on the outside.
Use a razor or utility knife to cut a small strip of fur 2-3 mm wide. This should be done from the side of the flesh, gently pushing the villi apart. Glue the fur along the contour of the brooch, cut off the excess.
If you use a clasp from an old brooch as a clasp, glue it at the very end of making the jewelry.
Brooch "Sunflower"
Use 2 pieces of yellow and black leather to make this jewelry. The material should be fairly dense, so it is best to use leather from old boots or a belt. In addition, you will also need:
- cardboard;
- yellow beads;
- pin or brooch lock;
- glue "Moment";
- scissors.
Cut a 7 cm circle out of cardboard. In the middle, draw a circle with a smaller diameter and draw the petals of the sunflower. So that they do not bend while wearing the brooch, do not make the petals too long. Cut the workpiece along the contour.
This brooch can also be used as a hair clip. To do this, instead of a pin, you need to attach a hairpin clasp.
Apply the resulting template to the yellow flesh of the skin, circle it along the contour and cut it out. From a piece of black leather, cut a 1.5 cm circle for the center of the flower. Glue the middle to the yellow part with "Moment" glue, and on it - several yellow beads. If desired, you can decorate with beads and petals.
In the middle of the cardboard part, make a puncture and insert a pin. Glue the cardboard to the flower so that the clasp is on the outside of the decoration.
