One of the main musical events of each year is the Eurovision Song Contest. Traditionally, the country chooses its best performer who will compete for the prize. 2012 was no exception, more than 40 countries of the world have chosen their representatives to participate in the competition, which will be held in Baku.
For the residents of Russia, the choice of the contestant was very unexpected. According to the results of the qualifying round, which took place in Moscow, the winner was a team from Udmurtia called "Buranovskie Babushki". This unique group has existed for over 40 years, but only since 2008 has it become known to a wide range of listeners. The main distinguishing feature of this group is the rehash of famous songs in a modern and partly humorous way. Of course, one cannot fail to note the fact that the youngest member of the group is 43 years old, and the oldest is 86.
Many masters of Russian show business were surprised by such a result of the qualifying round. But the very next day after the announcement of the results, the composition "Party for Everybody" sounded from everywhere, and this suggests that the inhabitants of the country liked it. Indeed, the catchy song, written by the famous composer and producer Viktor Drobysh, cheers up. Residents of Russia can only root for "Buranovskiye Babushki", because it is not for nothing that the team bypassed such performers in the qualifying round as Dima Bilan, Yulia Volkova, Mark Tishman, Timati and many others.
The performer from Russia in 2011, Alexei Vorobyov, during the final vote, scored only 77 points and took 16th place. Only the countries taking from 1 to 10 places will automatically qualify for the final. Accordingly, this year representatives from Russia will have to compete for a place in the main music competition, performing in the semifinals.
It is known that the members of the group "Buranovskie Babushki" are intensively preparing for a responsible appearance on the stage. The director of the issue will be Sergey Shirokov. He revealed several secrets of the number that the Russian team will present. One of them - right during the performance of "Grandmothers" will begin to prepare a national Udmurt dish called "perepechi". Such an unexpected decision will surely attract the attention of the viewer. Since it is impossible to vote for the contestants of your country according to the Eurovision rules, support the participant who will be more deserving of victory than others.
