Patent loops are one of the main knitting patterns. Of these, elastic bands are often woven on hats, scarves, collars. And separate patent loops, made on the front surface, create a beautiful embossed pattern.

It is necessary

  • - yarn;
  • - Crochet hook.

Instructions

Step 1

The patent pattern is not made from the first row of loops, so first tie the fabric to the place where you want to insert the loop. If you plan to perform all knitting with a similar pattern, cast an even number of loops on the knitting needles.

Step 2

Before starting the patent buttonhole, move the working thread to the front of the work and insert the right knitting needle into the front buttonhole in the same way as when knitting with a purl, i.e. from right to left. Remove on the right knitting needle, without knitting, both the loop and the yarn on the knitting needle (working thread). Tie this row to the end, and the next row to the removed loops and yarn.

Step 3

Move the working thread to the front of the work again. Insert the right knitting needle into the crochet stitch from right to left as you would when knitting a purl stitch. Transfer to the right knitting needle, without knitting, both the loop and both yarns on it (loops from the previous row). Finish this row and knit the next one up to the patent loop.

Step 4

The working thread is now at the back of the knitting. Insert the right knitting needle from the front into a loop with two crochets on it, as when knitting a front loop, and knit everything together. The result is a separate patent loop, tied on the front surface.

Step 5

You can also perform a separate patent loop on the front surface in another way. To do this, insert the right knitting needle from the front of the fabric into the loop that was knitted three rows earlier. Grasp the working thread and pull it forward. Remove the knitted stitch from the left knitting needle. You should get the same loop as described above.
