The irregular mesh is usually used in crocheting to connect Irish lace motifs to create one-piece cut from the individual elements. This work is based on an arbitrary arrangement of chains of air loops, which are interconnected by columns. You can make a mesh fabric by changing the number of links in its components. This is how truly unique, graceful models are created.

Instructions
Step 1
Practice knitting an irregular mesh. First, make a one-piece canvas consisting of air chains and simple single crochet connecting posts. The work will start from the center of the future network, then it will go in a spiral. The beginning of knitting will be a chain of 5-6 air loops.
Step 2
Close the chain into a ring with a connecting post. Next, follow in a circle small chains of 5-6 links, forming arches from them. The bases of these "petals" should be joined to the center of knitting and to adjacent arches with a single crochet. Continue until you reach the beginning of the first arch. The last connecting post should be under it.
Step 3
Start the next row of arches, but now increase the number of loops in the chain by 1-2. Attach the last element of the irregular mesh under the arch of the previous row using a double crochet. Work further along the pattern, tying new parts of the mesh in a spiral.
Step 4
Gradually build up the irregular mesh to keep it neat. Before moving on to the next turn of the spiral, always make a "step" - a column with one crochet. The peculiarity of the fabric is that it can be knitted in any direction. For example, do not finish the circular row to the end, but turn the work over and perform the grid in the opposite direction. The pattern will have neither front nor back.
Step 5
Once you've learned how to knit an irregular mesh, you can start working on Irish lace. Steam off all the finished elements, lay them on the pattern with the wrong side up and secure with pins. Sew the details at the seams. For convenience, you can attach the work to a pillow or upholstered furniture. Now your task is to fill in the space between the lace motifs with mesh.
Step 6
Insert the bar of the hook into the fabric of one of the lace pieces, then pull out the working thread and make the first loop. To keep the thread well secured to the garment, pass its short end through the bow and tighten the knot. At the end of the work, you will stretch all the remaining "tails" through the canvas.
Step 7
Cast on 4-6 stitches. To find out the required chain size and where one mesh element is attached to an adjacent lace piece, pull the thread in different directions several times. This will determine the closest loop to hold the air chain. When the chain stitches reach this point, insert the crochet hook into the bow and make a double crochet stitch. This is followed by a new chain directed to the nearest lace motif, and again a column with two or more crochets.
Step 8
Knit the net in the desired directions, alternately performing chains and columns with two, three and four crochets. The mesh is called irregular because there are no universal recipes - the number of air and draped loops will depend on the distance between lace motifs and on your desire.
Step 9
When all parts of the product are connected by weaving chains, attach the mesh element to the canvas for the last time and tighten the connecting loop. Cut the thread and thread it through the lace detail. The work was done from the seamy part of the product, so the cut thread from the “face” will be invisible.
