Step 1
The easiest way to knit with multiple colors is with horizontal stripes. Spread the balls out in front of you. What color combinations do you find the most successful? Let's say you have yellow, orange and green yarns. You can alternate: yellow - orange - green, then yellow again - orange - green, etc. Or you can do it differently: yellow - orange, yellow - green, yellow again - orange and yellow - green.
Step 2
Let's consider the first option. Cast on the required number of loops in the first color and knit 4 rows of stocking. Place the ball of the first color in a bag or other container so that it does not fall out.
Step 3
Start the next row with threads of the second color. In this case, do not remove the edging, but knit with a new color. After tying 4 rows of knitted stocking thread on the second ball, put it in another bag.
Step 4
We knit the next 4 rows with threads of the third color and also put the ball into a separate bag. Now go back to the first color and knit the next 4 rows. Then 4 rows - the second, 4 rows - the third, etc.
Step 5
To make the transition from color to color clear, it is desirable to introduce a new colored thread in the front row.

To make the transition to another color more convex, you can knit the first row of the new strip not with the front, but with the purl. Next, continue with stocking knitting according to the scheme

Multi-colored stripes can be knitted not only on the front surface, but also in other patterns, as well as in a combination of stripes and various patterns. If the stripes are very wide, it is best to trim the threads at the end of each stripe. And then mask the ends of the threads.

Colored stripes can also be vertical. Each strip is knitted from its own ball. At the junction of flowers, the threads are intertwined in a certain way so that no holes arise. For knitting colored cells, threads of contrasting colors are used. The number of loops should be divisible by 8, plus 3 for symmetry and 2 for edging. Cast on 21 light-colored stitches for the sample. 1st and 2nd rows (light thread): knit all loops.
