Many of us who loved to draw in childhood dreamed of creating our own cartoons. Until 20 years ago, animation was a technically difficult undertaking that required professional education and equipment. Nowadays, the process of creating cartoons can be mastered by anyone with a personal computer. All you need is basic drawing and computer skills, as well as a little patience.

It is necessary

  • - Whiteboard with the ability to erase images
  • - USB Camera (any, for example, a cheap video conferencing camera)
  • - A computer
  • - Any free software for creating cartoons
  • - Scotch tape, scissors, markers and other little things that may suddenly come in handy

Instructions

Step 1

Place the whiteboard on the table and secure it securely with tape so that the board does not move when you draw on it.

Step 2

Mount the camera above the board with the lens facing directly into the image. A desk lamp (camera tripod or microphone stand) is perfect as a camera stand. The camera should not change its position in relation to the board during the entire shooting process. The distance from the camera to the board should not exceed thirty centimeters.

Step 3

Connect the camera to your computer and launch the program. Specify your camera in the video settings. Create a new layer. Draw something on the board (like a man) and film it on camera. Make small adjustments to the drawing (for example, your character raised his hand) and shoot a new shot. Take your changes every time you want to add a new frame.

Step 4

Create a new layer and paint the background on which your character moves. The background can be static or dynamic. If you want the background to be dynamic (for example, a field swaying in the wind), remove the changes each time, as in the previous step.

Step 5

When the cartoon is ready, you can start dubbing it. Select a song or any other sound file and import it into the program. When finished, save the finished animation as an avi file. Now you can upload your creation to Youtube and wait for the public reaction.
