With the help of watercolors, you can draw any object, while creating the most original visual effects. To learn how to write well-defined details, try drawing a book using the one-stroke technique.

It is necessary

  • - watercolor paints,
  • - pencil,
  • - sheet,
  • - eraser.

Instructions

Step 1

First, outline the main elements of your drawing. Draw the location of the main elements with a pencil, starting from the middle of the sheet and working towards its edges. Draw all lines vertically, horizontally, corners and shadows of the subject.

Step 2

Thin the pink watercolor paint thin enough, tone down with gray paint. Use the # 6 brush to paint the book on top with this paint. To write the second book, make a mixture with the addition of scarlet paint. This tone should be warmer. Let the applied paint dry.

Step 3

Mix paints to frame books. Take cobalt blue and mix some gray paint with it. Use the tip of the brush to paint the frames, into which you will later apply gilded lettering to the book.

Step 4

Add dark-colored paint to the spines of the books. The same cobalt blue, muted with gray paint, will do. Apply this mixture to the spines of the books, leaving room for the gilded inscriptions.

Step 5

Apply the shadows that cast the books. They will help mark the table on which the books are laid. Combine gray paint, raw sienna and burnt umber to apply the eyeshadow. Write the corners of the shadows clearly. After that, the painting should dry for a while.

Step 6

Next, add dark tones to the books. For the cover of the book, mix the gray and pink colors on top. Try to write the cover so that a narrow strip of the bottom paint shows through along its edge. Likewise, paint the cover of the second book using a pre-mixed scarlet and pink paint.

Step 7

Next, add gilded lettering to the spines and book covers. For a gilded effect, take a raw sienna and tone it down with gray paint. Apply the lettering carefully.

Step 8

When creating a drawing with books, it is very important that the outlines are kept as clear as possible. Therefore, try not to allow the colors of the picture to merge.
