Step 1
Think about what kind of music you are going to play. The first criterion is your personal affection for a particular direction. The second is novelty against the backdrop of fashion and mainstream. Although it is very difficult to find like-minded people in music that no one has heard, it is still better to go the unbeaten path. Just as a pink object will not be visible on a pink one, so a hard rock band will not be visible against the backdrop of hundreds of other similar bands.
Step 2
Think about instrumentation. Try to limit the line-up to five or six musicians, it will be difficult to cope with a large number: one will miss, because he has classes that day, the other will be late, because he is traveling from another city. Of course, I would like to have in my ranks a keyboard player, a violinist, a flutist, and a saxophonist, but the members of the symphony orchestra need to be paid a salary. At first, you will not have this opportunity. Limit yourself to one or two electric guitars, bass guitars, drums and voices. For melodic parts, you can find a synthesizer or something exotic, according to the chosen style.
Step 3
Post ads on multiple forums. Inform about music style, financial basis (commercial / non-commercial collective), concert and studio recording plans. Leave your contact details.
Step 4
When the first candidates appear, schedule a rehearsal. Be prepared that half of the invited musicians will refuse to participate five minutes before the start. For this purpose, you can invite two or three candidates for each vacancy. Take the rehearsal seriously: learn your part so that you can perform it without looking at the instrument.
Step 5
In the first few months, you will change up to a hundred musicians. Do not despair, you will definitely find those who will not only come to the rehearsal, but will also appreciate your music.
