It is quite simple to grow a houseplant, which is popularly dubbed "the bamboo of happiness", at home. The flower is unpretentious and, with proper care, can grow up to two meters in height.

The plant known as indoor bamboo is not one at all. In fact, this is Dracaena Sander, and they call it that because it looks very much like bamboo.

Features of caring for Dracaena Sander

Dracena (indoor bamboo) needs bright, but diffused light, so the best place for it would be a window facing the east or west side. You can also put bamboo on the south window, but in this case it will need to be protected from direct sunlight during the day.

The stem of indoor bamboo can be shaped to give the plant the desired shape, making it particularly decorative.

Watering should be very abundant. Bamboo can be grown in ordinary deciduous soil, but experts advise using a hydrogel or plain water. Pick up a shallow bowl, pour soft, settled water into it, or put a hydrogel and put a few branches of bamboo. It is not necessary to water the plant grown in this way; it is enough to add water once every several weeks as needed.

The plant needs moist air. In an apartment, this can be achieved by spraying the air around the bamboo several times a day.

The plant needs warmth for good growth. If he is not very comfortable, bamboo will "warn" you about it. Its leaves will begin to darken and become soft to the touch. Sometimes they begin to curl and fall off. To avoid this, artificially increase the temperature of the content of the bamboo or move it to a warmer place, for example, on a window located above the battery.

Features of transplanting indoor bamboo

The plant grows quickly, so it needs a transplant. Usually, it is enough to do this once every 2 years, choosing a container that is slightly larger in volume. If the specimen is growing faster, repot the flower as needed.

If the bamboo grows too slowly, increase the dose of organic fertilizer and fertilize with alternating organic and mineral nutrients.

For adults and fairly large plants, prepare a nutrient medium. Take:

- 2 parts of clay soil;

- 1 part of humus;

- 1 part of peat.

Add hydrogel and vermiculite to the mixture and plant the bamboo, straightening its roots. Moisten the substrate, and a week after transplanting, feed the bamboo with complex fertilizer.
