Bamboo, or rather bamboo, are representatives of plants of the "cereals" family, which number about 1200 species. Almost all plants in this subfamily grow large and grow incredibly fast. Bamboo can be considered an almost universal plant, as it is used for food, used as a building material, made from it various household items, musical instruments and paper.
In gardening and indoor planting, bamboo is also very popular, as it is an evergreen plant with many different shapes and colors.
Indoors, dwarf forms of bamboo are most common. Taking care of bamboo is not difficult, because this plant is quite unpretentious. This is due to the fact that, in fact, bamboo is a very common herb in tropical countries, and the most important thing for it is warmth and regular abundant watering. When kept in artificial conditions, bamboo needs to receive a lot of light and air.
It is also desirable that the air in the room be sufficiently humidified (for this you can spray water in the room), since the closer the conditions of the plant to its natural environment, the easier it is to grow bamboo, and perhaps even wait for its flowering. Bamboo flowering is a very rare occurrence that happens around the time the plant reaches 33-35 years old. Unfortunately, after this event, the plant dies, since too much energy is expended on this process.
The most suitable soil for bamboo is turf, peat, or humus. As a rule, the plant is fertilized in the store before being sold, so it should not be fertilized immediately after planting. It is not necessary to water the bamboo daily, it is important to look at the condition of the plant. So, if the leaves begin to curl, then you should immediately water the bamboo. If the leaves are bent down, then this means that the plant is receiving too much water.
It is important to know that the soil in the pot should be dark in color. It is useful to use fine gravel in the bamboo tub pan. The pallet should be filled with water to the level of rubble, and a pot with a plant should be placed on top. It will not be superfluous from time to time to take the plant out into fresh air, and the room where the bamboo grows must be regularly ventilated.
Since bamboo is characterized by intense growth, every spring, the plants that are contained in pots need to be replanted. Large potted bamboos can be replanted every two years. Bamboo propagates by dividing during transplantation.
It should be noted that today some shops sell the so-called "Happiness Bamboo", which many consider to be a real bamboo. In fact, this plant is called "Dracaena Sanderian". It is even easier to take care of it than to care for bamboo, since this plant can simply be kept in a vessel with clean water, but still, this plant should not be confused with true bamboo.
