The stream, with its cheerful murmur, coolness, an abundance of lush vegetation surrounding it, noticeably revives the summer cottage. But what if you got the "land" land? Don't despair and make an artificial stream. This will not require much finances and work, and you will not regret the time spent when you see the work of your own hands. It is important to do everything correctly and accurately.

How to make a stream

It is necessary

Shovel (pick), rake, river sand, waterproofing materials, film, 3mm plywood, pump, plastic hoses and pipes, finishing materials (pebbles, stones), plants for decoration

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the place where your future stream will be located. If your site is flat, indicate for yourself where it will flow from and in what direction, i.e. its course. If there is a slope on the site, it is advisable to use it (this will be ideal). Sketch a sketch or drawing that clearly shows the mouth and bed of the stream, as well as the water tank and piping. Mark the area accordingly.

Step 2

Decide what? will serve as a reservoir for water (the required volume of which can be calculated based on the length, depth and speed of the stream flow) - a reservoir available on the site (a pond, a spring, a nearby river), a large tank or a hole, which (if there is none) must be dug, lay out with foil, or concrete and equip with a sturdy lid. It is from this container that pipe laying should begin.

Step 3

Lay the pipes at the designated locations. Piping is necessary due to the closed hydrocirculation of the future stream. Most of all, polypropylene pipes are suitable for these purposes, they are easy to install, they can withstand frost (they do not need to be dismantled for the winter). The pipes can be slightly dug in or decorated with stones, plants, but so that they can be easily reached (in case of repair or transfer).

Step 4

According to the bed of the future stream marked on the ground, arrange the bed - use a shovel or pickaxe to dig a groove. Remove roots, debris, and stones from it. Tamp down well.

Step 5

Build a sand cushion in the groove. That is, fill the bed along the entire length of the stream with river sand. The thickness of the sand layer should be 5-6 cm. Place any non-woven material (for example, butyl rubber or special plastic) on the pillow. Try to avoid creases. Sprinkle the ends of the film that capture the "banks" of the stream with sand, and then press down with decorative stones, throw pebbles between them.

Step 6

Install the pump at the mouth of the stream. Most often, a submerged pump is used for this purpose - it is compact and relatively quiet. Before buying, you must determine for yourself the expected intensity of the flow of the future stream, it depends on which pump of what power you should purchase. On this issue, consult a store consultant or carefully read the manufacturer's instructions for each pump.

Step 7

Decorate the bed of the future stream. You can lay it out with pebbles, stones. Plant plants along the banks - perennial flowers, shrubs, mosses.

Step 8

Connect whatever needs to be connected (hoses, pipes). Switch on the pump. Enjoy the murmur of the stream.
