Sooner or later, every child asks questions about the sun, sky, earth. What is the best way to explain to a baby about the structure of the universe? The easiest way might be to show a mockup of the solar system with your comments. It is even better if your child also participates in the creation of this layout.
It is necessary
scissors, colored cardboard, compasses, cord, awl, felt-tip pens. Any book on astronomy, which contains drawings of the solar system, and most importantly, the sizes of the planets and the values of their distances from the sun, will also come in handy
Instructions
Step 1
Take a sheet of plain cardboard and draw circles on it with a compass, which will correspond in scale to the orbits of the rotation of the planets of the solar system around the Sun. Draw out the orbits with a contrasting marker or felt-tip pen. This will be our solar system.
Step 2
Draw planet circles on colored cardboard using a compass. Observe the scale and color. So the sun should be made of yellow cardboard and have the largest size.
Step 3
Next, draw a small brown circle - Mercury. Draw Venus on light cardboard, Earth on blue. Mars should be red, Jupiter brown, multicolored Saturn should have a ring of satellites. Uranus is turquoise, Neptune is blue, Pluto is light brown. The sizes of the planets must be kept to scale. Sign the names of the planets on the circles with a felt-tip pen.
Step 4
Look in the astronomical reference book for the layout of the planets. According to it, make holes with an awl in the large cardboard circle representing the solar system.
Step 5
Cut the cord into equal lengths. Attach one end of the cut cord to the circle of the planet and the other to its place in the solar system. Attach the last piece of cord to the center of the system and hang the finished system from the ceiling on a chandelier or other suitable location.
