The speaker system sooner or later becomes the subject of choice of any person who attaches importance to the quality of sound. Unfortunately, in our time, you can not always rely on the cost or the name of the manufacturer. However, there are a number of general selection rules that apply to all loudspeakers.

Instructions

Step 1

The first thing is to take a closer look at the dimensions of the future speaker system and compare them with the amount of free space for installation. Remember that other things being equal, there is a simple rule for acoustics - the more, the better and more powerful.

Step 2

Decide on the need for a subwoofer in your sound system, as well as speakers that create a surround effect. All this will be useful when watching movies, but completely useless if the acoustics are supposed to be used only for listening to music.

Step 3

Pay attention to speaker power and impedance. These parameters should correlate with the parameters of the amplifier, which is supposed to be used in conjunction with the acoustics. Do not buy acoustics with built-in amplifiers (usually in a subwoofer) if you do not want to be disappointed.

Step 4

Remember that quality acoustics cannot be made of plastic. The material should be only wood or its derivatives (chipboard, plywood).

Step 5

Check out the material of the cones used in the speakers. Paper cones will give more warmth and natural sound, while polypropylene cones are better (due to their lightness) transmit sounds such as, for example, a separate beat on a drum.

Step 6

The number of speakers in a column does not always play a big role, but there should be at least three of them: for low, medium and high frequencies.

Step 7

If you want to get high-quality acoustics for little money and you do not care too much about its appearance, pay attention to the still available systems of domestic production of the 80s of the last century (S-90, "Cleaver", etc.). Sometimes they need a little tweaking, but in most cases, you won't be disappointed.
