Step 1
Sew a soft little harness on which to attach a light toy. The toy should be really light - you can not give great physical activity until the skeleton of the dog has not yet been fully formed. Distract the puppy, if he is interested in the toy, go for a run with him. Gradually move your activities outdoors and teach your toddler to harness and tow light objects.
Step 2
You can start harnessing the husky "for trial" not earlier than the dog is one year old. Pick up the necessary equipment in a special store according to its size. If you are going to ski with her, do skijoring, then you will need a cord with a shock absorber for the dog and a special belt for you. For timed training, if you are going to take part in races, buy a mileage counter, speed and stopwatch.
Step 3
You will need a lot of harnesses during training and training, they should be changed as the dog grows and gets worn out. Do not buy this harness "for growth", it must be adjusted exactly to the size of the dog. When harnessing the dog, put its paws through the loops and secure the harness with the adjustable straps on the back. All types of harnesses have the same design: paw loops, a head loop and a loop on which the pull is attached.
Step 4
The shock absorber, which is designed to prevent sudden jerks when the dog moves, will avoid pain. You cannot replace it with a leash and a rope, as a last resort, you can make it yourself. Weave it from an elastic band folded several times.
Step 5
Get a lanyard that attaches to a harness with bronze snap hooks that don't freeze as much in cold temperatures. To make a rod yourself, use a climbing cord with a diameter of 5-6 mm. It must be woven into a thick rope 10-15 cm in diameter.
Step 6
When teaching a dog to run in harness with a load, simultaneously practice with it the execution of the simplest commands: "right", "left", "quieter", "forward", "stop".
