The crocheted ball is the perfect toy for a child. A rare mother allows her son to play at home with a real ball. After all, the kid can launch it both through the window and into the TV, not to mention the neighbors, who are forced to listen to the uniform sound of the ball against the wall. A knitted ball will solve all these problems - it will be quiet and safe to play at home.

Step 1
First, choose a crochet hook and thread that is the right size. Remember, the larger you want to knit the toy, the thicker the threads should be and the larger the hook. For small balls, thin threads are suitable, perhaps even iris.
Step 2
If you have no experience in crocheting, you can use a tennis ball (or any other suitable size) that you will try on your needlework. Tie a chain of six chain stitches and close it into a ring. Then, knitting two chains in each loop, make the next row of 12 loops. The third row of your ball should be 18, and the fourth row should be 24 stitches. So, adding six loops with each new row, you will gradually increase the diameter of your ball to the size you need.
Step 3
Once your ball has reached the desired size, begin to shrink it, cutting each row by the same number of loops as you added.
Step 4
When you have practically tied the ball, fill it with padding polyester, padding polyester, unnecessary scraps of fabric or cereals - peas, lentils, buckwheat. In this case, the ball will also develop the child's fine motor skills. After the ball is full, tie the product to the end and thread the protruding threads.
Step 5
There is another way how to make a ball. To do this, knit three strips about 11 centimeters long and about 3 centimeters wide. To do this, you will need to knit chains of about 40 stitches and knit 9-10 stitches. If desired, the strips can be from different fabrics - you get a fun children's ball.
Step 6
Sew one strip into a ring. The second strip is also sewn into a ring and put on top of the first. The third strip is passed under the bottom of the first and superimposed on top of the second, after which the product is filled and the strip is fixed in a ring, like the previous ones.
