It is necessary

Yarn, knitting needles, graph paper for patterns, centimeter

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to draw a pattern. The basis of the future vest begins with measuring the length of the back. To do this, put a collar on the pet, without tightening, and measure the length from it to the estimated bottom of the future vest with a measuring tape (optimally - to the root of the tail). Write down the resulting number and divide by 8, this value is the value for one side of the square of the pattern grid. Now draw a grid on graph paper using the number you wrote down.

Step 2

Then measure your dog's waist and chest girth and see if the pattern fits. If necessary, redo it upwards. Start knitting with an elastic band. Dial the number of loops according to the dog's waist. Gradually, as you knit, increase the number on the right and left sides. This is required to ensure that the size of the product matches the volume of the dog's chest when you get to the slots for the forelegs. In order to make these slots, close the required number of loops into the plan (at the rate of 2 centimeters). Check the knitted fabric with the pattern as often as possible.

Step 3

Put the remaining loops of the chest on one knitting needle and tie the missing length. After that, connect the vest along the belly line, carefully sew the seam with the same knitting thread and tie this place to the front of the chest. Next, sew on the remainder that goes between the front legs. Then cast the required number of loops for the neck of the vest and also knit the required length with the elastic band so that the collar covers the dog's throat. Close all loops carefully and cut and secure the thread.
