The metal frame for the lamp can be made by hand. The main thing is to decide on the size of the desired lampshade and choose the material from which you will craft it.

Instructions
Step 1
Draw a diagram of the lampshade on paper, indicate the dimensions of all its elements. If you are thinking of getting a fabric lampshade, then you will need to make the frame necessary to maintain its shape. For a paper lamp, it will be enough to make only the base rings.
Step 2
Prepare 4mm diameter aluminum wire. Calculate the length of the segment using the formula: L = π D, in which π is 3, 14, and D is the diameter of the circle of the plafond that you drew. Add 10 cm to the resulting L value for the connection. Use a metal hacksaw to cut the piece of wire you need.
Step 3
When making the bottom ring, make an overlap of 5 cm, in this place, wrap tightly with another wire, the diameter of which is 1 mm. It is better to use wire cutters to cut it. Saturate the joint with Moment glue to give it strength and give the element a rounded shape. Make the top ring in the same way.
Step 4
Now prepare the side edges of the frame, also using a wire with a diameter of 4 mm. For each rib, measure the length of the finished one, while adding 12 cm for the folds. The ribs can be 8, 12, or 16, depending on the size of the lampshade.
Step 5
Now secure the ribs on the main and top rings. To do this, take the workpiece, bend it with pliers, measuring 6 cm from the edge on each side, and tie it tightly with a thin wire, as in the construction of the main rings. In the same way, saturate the joints with Moment glue.
Step 6
To attach the lamp holder, make a special suspension. Bend the loop of wire so that it squeezes the chuck, and the ends diverge from it in opposite directions. You will need them to secure the gimbal to the top ring in the same way as the ribs.
Step 7
The metal frame is ready. You can wrap it with a cloth. In order to prevent a fire, it is recommended to screw 100 W bulbs into fabric lampshades.
