This is a really real diagram of a working metal detector. It distinguishes iron from non-ferrous metal, does not consume a lot of batteries, and parts for it are affordable and cheap. Current consumption about 50 ma, DD type sensor.

It is necessary

  • - speaker;
  • - PELSHO wire;
  • - insulating tape;
  • - foil from the electrolyte capacitor;
  • - tinned wire;
  • - capacitor;
  • - two LEDs.

Instructions

Step 1

Collect this circuit without errors, and it will not require adjustment, except for search coils. Such a metal detector is powered by two 4V lithium-ion batteries and works up to ten hours without recharging. Industrial designs "eat up" the same amount in a couple of hours, especially impulse models, which is completely inconvenient in a field or forest.

Step 2

For the metal detector body, you can take a monitor stand with a diameter of about 180 mm. The coils used to assemble RX and TX are the same. They consist of sixty turns of PEL wire or, even better, PELSHO 0.4-0.7 mm. The diameter of the selected wire depends on the size of the sensor. Wrap the wire around a pot of a suitable diameter, carefully remove and wrap with electrical tape.

Step 3

Wrap the foil from the electrolyte capacitor over the electrical tape, stretch the tinned wire on top of the foil and again the electrical tape. In parallel to each winding, connect a capacitor of about 0.1 microfarad, or rather select it when tuning the circuits to a frequency of 8192 Hz.

Step 4

After you finalize the sensor setup, be sure to insulate it from moisture. Otherwise, the setting may get lost, and you will only be able to search for sewer hatches under the leaves. Connect two LEDs to pin 7 of U2B - one for plus, the other for minus, with 470 ohm resistors. Field experience has shown that the brightest LEDs should be taken - they will be visible even in the sun.

Step 5

Instead of headphones, it is better to take a speaker, since headphones in the forest cling to branches, which is not very convenient. The assembled metal detector detects a coin at a depth of 15 cm, and a bucket lid at 80 cm. Industrial samples have a greater detection depth, but it is not always good to dig each bottle cap at a depth of half a meter.

Step 6

The sound of detecting iron and non-ferrous metal differs in tonality, and the size of the metal product differs in duration. When you assemble this metal detector, you will surely find a lot of useful and interesting things with its help.
