Leg warmers are back in fashion! This is a wonderful accessory, thanks to which you can look stylish and feel very comfortable even in severe frost. It's no surprise that many fashionistas want to have leggings in their wardrobe. And it is not at all necessary to buy leggings in expensive stores, you can sew them yourself!
It is necessary
- - artificial fur, about 90 cm wide and length according to your wishes for the length of the gaiters;
- - a piece of jersey for the cuffs, or you can simply cut off the cuffs from an old sweater of a suitable color.
Instructions
Step 1
Let's start sewing. First you need to cut the fur lengthwise into two equal parts. Please note that only the base of the material needs to be cut without damaging the pile.
Step 2
Then sew each piece lengthwise to create a “fur tube”. The best way to do this is with a sewing machine, but a neat hand seam will work as well. faux fur almost does not crumble at the edges.
Step 3
Prepare the cuffs for the leg warmers, either by sewing them from existing knitwear, or simply by cutting them off the sleeves of an old sweater. Now you need to sew the cuffs and "fur pipes" together. To do this, turn the cuffs inside out and attach them to the upper edge of the future gaiters, aligning the edges.
Step 4
Sew the parts together, stretching the jersey to the required width of the fur part. Do not forget that the edges of the jersey need to be processed without fail. Your leggings are ready! They can be worn both with boots and with boots straightened in length or gathered.
Step 5
As you can see, it is not difficult to sew leggings, it takes very little time. But how much pleasure you will get during the autumn-winter walks, flaunting a warm and cozy accessory and attracting the glances of passers-by!
