Spinner has gained wide popularity among teenagers. You can buy it in online stores, kiosks with gadgets, or just from your hands on the street. But if you are sorry to spend money or want to impress your friends, you should make a spinner with your own hands.
The main part of any spinner is a ball bearing, metal or ceramic. It is inserted into a body with blades or weights, which can be of different materials - plastic, copper, steel or alloys. The most common shape is an equilateral triangle with blades or weights at the tops. However, there are also spinners with two or four blades.
To make a spinner with your own hands, it is enough to buy a ball bearing (or use an old one from another mechanism) and make a case. The crucial moment is the construction of the hull drawing. You can find it online or build it yourself. For a three-bladed spinner, it is enough to draw a circle and use a protractor to mark a triangle in it. It is even easier to draw a drawing for two or four blades.
The cheapest fidget spinner will be made of paper or cardboard. Better to use beer cardboard, small pieces of which are sold in craft or art stores. The drawing must be transferred to the material and carefully cut out with a breadboard knife or a stationery knife with a sharp blade. The bearing hole in the center should be made slightly smaller than the part, so that the mount is immediately rigid. It is important to glue all parts thoroughly and allow them to dry well before decorating and using.
Another option is to make a spinner from plywood, veneer or hardboard. These materials are easy to buy in modeler stores. The principle of operation is the same - transfer the drawing and cut. For work, you will need a tool - a jigsaw and a drill, and the finished toy should be sanded with sandpaper.
