All modern telescopes are divided into two main types - mirror reflectors and lens refractors. The parts for the first type of telescope are very expensive. Assembling such a device on your own without special equipment is unlikely to work. But the answer to the question of how to make a refractor telescope of the simplest design with your own hands is relatively simple.
It is necessary
- - a magnifying glass with a diameter of 100 mm;
- - lens minus 18 diopters. by 25-50 mm;
- - plumbing pipe 100 mm;
- - plumbing adapter from 100 mm;
- - a piece from a rubber automobile branch pipe;
- - a can of black paint;
- - cloth gloves;
- - two plumbing clamps 100 mm;
- - file, scotch tape, screwdriver.

Step 1
So let's see how to make a telescope. First, thoroughly wipe the purchased lens and magnifier with a cloth dampened with alcohol. There should be no spots or fingerprints on these elements of the future telescope. To avoid leaving dirt on the glass, carry out most of the subsequent work with gloves.
Step 2
Cut a piece about 30-35 cm long from the plastic pipe for the body. Also cut out two O-rings of 4 and 2.5 cm. Saw off the handle from the magnifying glass. Put the clamps on the piece of pipe without tightening.
Step 3
Paint the body of the future pipe with black paint (you can only from the inside). It will be impossible to make a telescope of sufficient quality without this procedure. Paint the o-rings as well.
Step 4
Wait for the enamel to dry. Cut the prepared O-rings vertically. Wrap the smaller of them around the diameter of the magnifying glass and insert the resulting structure into the body. It should enter tightly enough. But to be sure, you can smear the ring with some kind of plastic glue.
Step 5
Tighten one of the clamps on the top edge of the housing, around the lens portion. Wrap the other end of the pipe with the remaining sealant and insert the body into the adapter. Next, to make a home telescope, tap the seal on top with a hammer so that the pipe is held in the adapter as tightly as possible.
Step 6
Place the lens on top of the piece of automotive fitting. You can buy such an eyepiece at any pharmacy. Install the lens with the convex side outward. Secure the lens to the socket with tape. Insert the nipple into the adapter. At this point, the work can be considered almost finished.
Step 7
As you can see, the answer to the question of how to make a telescope is simple. For convenience, fix the resulting device on a holder made, for example, from a rail and a screw.

Use your DIY telescope refractor for its intended purpose. Of course, this simple device can be used at most as a toy for a child.
