Very often, when packing a gift, there is a problem with the lack of a box of the required size. A gift, packed in a random container "from someone else's shoulder" looks a little strange and careless. Do not be lazy and do not regret quite a bit of time to make individual packaging for the little thing that you are going to present to a loved one. The paper or cardboard should be dense and hold its shape well.
It is necessary
- - thick design paper or cardboard;
- - ruler;
- - pencil;
- - stationery knife;
- - double sided tape.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the dimensions (length, width and height) of the box you need to make. Cut out a rectangle from cardboard or thick paper, which will become the basis for unrolling the future box. Its dimensions are determined as follows: the length is equal to the length of the finished product plus its height multiplied by four, and the width is equal to the width of the finished box plus the height multiplied by four.
Step 2
Cut out this rectangle and on its front side from each corner in both directions, measure out two segments equal to the height of the product. Make light pencil marks.
Step 3
Take a ruler and with the blunt side of the knife blade "draw" lines parallel to the edges of the box, connecting the marks you made in pairs. This operation must be performed from the front side of the material with which you are working so that the folds of the product are clear and beautiful, without creases. The rectangle in the middle of the sheet is the bottom of the box.
Step 4
On the short sides of the box, make two cuts along the ruler with a clerical knife. You need to cut from the corners of the bottom of the box to the short outer edges.
Step 5
Stick strips of double-sided tape on the long sides (or sides) of the box and fold each side in half. Press firmly to make the halves stick together.
Step 6
Bend the side sections on both sides of the long sides and place double-sided tape on them. Lift the long and short sides of the box perpendicular to the bottom and glue each pair of adjacent sides together. In this case, the short sides have not yet been folded in half.
Step 7
Bend the top halves of the short sides into the box. If they do not fit tightly to the wall, then you can also stick them with double-sided tape.
Step 8
The lid of the box is made in a similar way, but increase its size slightly so that it closes easily. Add 2 mm to the length and width of the product, and determine the height based on the general proportions of your box - it may be equal to the height of the box itself, or it may be less than it. In the latter case, the lid and the box can be made of material of different colors that go well with each other.
Step 9
Inside the box, you can insert the bottom, raised above the lower plane of the product. To do this, cut a rectangle 2 cm larger than the bottom of the box itself. Measure 1 cm from each edge and fold the paper along these lines, and cut the small squares in the corners. Insert the resulting bottom into the box.
