Launching a water rocket is truly great fun. Is it possible to make such a device yourself? The answer is yes! In addition, everything is not as complicated as it might seem at first glance.
It is necessary
plastic bottle, bicycle nipple, cork, stabilizers
Instructions
Step 1
First, choose the bottle you want, a regular 1.5 liter plastic bottle can go for it. Remember that in order to achieve maximum flight altitude, you need to make a rocket with a diameter to length ratio of 1: 7.
Step 2
Also get a bicycle nipple (if you are using an old bicycle, there will probably be a spool valve, but this may work). You will also need a cork (from a bottle of water or old shampoo) in the form of a valve. Please note that the plug must be strong enough, otherwise it will allow air to pass through. This can be checked in advance: just put the cork on the bottle and squeeze it firmly.
Step 3
Make a small hole in the middle of the bottom of the bottle in order to insert the nipple there (insert from the inside so that the pump comes out).
Step 4
Fasten the pressure screw on the nipple so that it fits very tightly to the hole, that is, so that the bottle becomes airtight. Finish off with stabilizers on the bottle to keep your rocket flying smoothly. The rocket is ready.
Step 5
And now a little about how it works. In order for the rocket to take off, fill it by a third with water.
Next, you need help. Have your friend hold the rocket with the cork facing down and press the cork firmly against the bottle. At this time, you pump the bottle with a pump. Then you move away, and the second person continues to hold the bottle for a while, and then lets go. Done, the launch took place! The only thing to consider: the one who releases the rocket last will certainly be splashed with water, so it is better to make launches in the warm season.
