A keychain is an extremely convenient thing. I attached the keys to it - and they will not get lost in the vastness of the bag or in a large pocket. And it looks much prettier than a simple bunch of keys on a ring. But you can take care of your keys a little more and sew a separate "house" for them. For example, in the form of a nesting doll. By the way, such housekeepers are very popular in Japan.

It is necessary

  • - fabric in two colors for the front side;
  • - fabric for the wrong side;
  • - gasket material;
  • - floss threads;
  • - decorative elements for decoration;
  • - cardboard;
  • - lace;
  • - large bead;
  • - key ring.

Instructions

Step 1

Take the key for which you want to sew a cover, put them on a sheet of paper and with a pencil outline the dimensions of the future key holder so that the key fits freely into it. Draw the outlines of the matryoshka, keeping in mind the symmetry. Cut out the resulting pattern. Cut it in two - head and torso.

Step 2

Cut out six key holder pieces - two head pieces, two torso pieces, and two more solid pieces for the lining. The color of the head and body may vary at your discretion.

Step 3

Sew the head and torso together. Decorate the front of the key holder. Cut a circle out of cardboard (radius - about 1.5 cm). Use it to cut out the future face of the matryoshka from light fabric. Remember to leave a seam allowance. Pull the rag piece around the cardboard piece with a thread, iron with an iron. Remove the cardboard circle. Sew the face to the main part with a blind stitch.

Step 4

Mark the face of the matryoshka with a pencil. Embroider the face with floss. Decorate the matryoshka with any other decorative elements: beads, beads, ribbons, lace - whatever you want.

Step 5

Put all the details together. To do this, sew the face pieces with the spacer and backing. Do not forget to leave unsewn areas for turning parts inside out. Turn everything right out and sew these holes by hand.

Step 6

Sew the two pieces together, leaving holes at the top and bottom. Take a string, attach it to your key ring. Pass the string through the upper unsewn section of the matryoshka, put a large bead on the ends as a stopper. Now, to remove the key, you will need to pull on the ring, and to hide it inside - by the string.
