Booties are an indispensable attribute of a newborn's wardrobe, because the baby's legs should always be warm. You can knit cute booties both with knitting needles and crochet.

Step 1
For knitting booties, soft natural merino wool or acrylic yarn is suitable (the first will be warmer, and the second stronger, you can combine them into one thread, and then it will turn out to combine the qualities of acrylic and woolen yarn). Step 2
If you are using knitting needles, start by knitting the sole. Cast on 35 loops and knit with the front stitch. On both sides of the canvas, add one loop at the same time after the first and before the last loop, add three times in every second row. Set aside knitting.
Step 3
Next, start creating the gum. Cast on 35 stitches. Knit with a 1x1 or 2x2 elastic about 5 centimeters. In the last row, you need to provide holes for the ties. Knit two loops together, make one yarn over, then two loops according to the pattern. Repeat to the end of the row. In the purl row, knit all the loops according to the pattern.
Step 4
Then move on to knitting the sock. To do this, divide the canvas into three parts, leave the extreme ones and knit only the middle loops, about six centimeters (if the child's leg is more knit according to your measurements).
Step 5
For the toe, knit five rows of garter stitch, loop around the edges of the top of the sock, and make five rows of garter stitch. Close all loops. Sew the booties at the back and attach the sole.
Step 6
Insert a satin ribbon, bright lace or braid into the holes. To prevent the edges of the satin ribbon or braid from unraveling, burn them with a lighter before inserting them into the booties.
Step 7
Tie the second bootie in the same way. You can knit booties and stocking needles. Then the seam will pass through the sole.
Step 8
If you want to crochet the booties, then take the hook number 3 or number 3, 5, depending on the thickness of the yarn. Cast on 10 stitches. Knit the sole in a circle with single crochet stitches. Add three loops at the toe and heel. Thus, in a circular fashion, knit three rows. Then also knit in a circle, but do not add any more loops. So create 4 rows. Then connect the bumpers to the top of the sock.
Step 9
Determine the middle on the toe and count 3 loops on each side. Knit them in single crochets, grab the seventh, knit (without adding loops), knit six loops in the opposite direction, grab the seventh, then back. Thus, cast on 10 rows. Next, start knitting in a circle, grabbing the heel, 5 or 6 rows. The elastic of the shoe can be made openwork by choosing a beautiful pattern.
