An original gift for a holiday can be a postcard with lace. It is performed in the shabby chic style, which means “shabby chic”. Delicate light halftones and shades take part in this direction. The scuffs in the paper are a peculiar highlight of the style. Delicate lace, flowers, paper and fabric ribbons, plaster figures and metal fittings are taken to make a postcard.

Materials for postcards

To create a shabby chic masterpiece, you need to prepare:

- sandpaper;

- scrap paper;

- lace and ribbons;

- white paper for the base;

- brads and cord;

- pink stamp pad;

- butterfly and border punchers;

- flowers;

- pencil, glue, breadboard, cutter;

- decorative pins and stamens;

- half beads.

Making a postcard using lace

First you need to cut the base out of white paper. For example, a rectangle measuring 13 by 16 cm. Two substrates are cut out of scrap paper. One of them should be 12.5 by 15.5 cm, and the second should be 10.5 by 13.5 cm in size. After that, you need to make the edges with a punch in the form of a border 4 by 10.5 cm.

Next, you need to tint the edges with a stamp pad. The two previously created substrates need to be treated with construction sandpaper. The result is a squashed, uneven and slightly frayed edge. The edges of the substrates are also tinted with a stamp pad.

Then it is necessary to glue the first substrate, which is the main one, to the white base. The edges are tinted again with a pad. A "pocket" is made from the second substrate. The edges are tinted again. After that, a butterfly is made using an appropriate figured hole punch.

Then a small piece of lace is cut off. The backing does not stick. The bow tie and lace should be glued to the inside of the "pocket". From above, you need to glue the backing. After that, a hole-punch track and a lace piece are attached to the glue. Laces of different colors and widths and one ribbon tied together in the middle of the long side. After that, they are glued to the postcard.

Next, you need to start a flower arrangement. First of all, a hydrangea flower, a small rose and a twig with flowers are glued, and then a large rose is glued on top. The edges of the hydrangea petals are smeared with an adhesive and sprinkled with glitter on top. You need to glue a ribbon with leaves on the lace, and decorate it with beads or half-beads.

Then a lace, previously tied with a bow, is taken and attached with a brads. There should be a free space in the center of the postcard that needs to be filled. To do this, you need to take a few stamens and a decorative pin. If the pin leg is long, then it is cut with special pliers. The pin and stamens are glued to the free space. The postcard is ready!
