To draw a gun realistically, it is not enough to convey its proportions correctly. The weapon will look three-dimensional only if you work out the change in color and chiaroscuro on its surface to the smallest detail.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - a simple pencil;
- - eraser;
- - watercolor;
- - brushes;
- - palette.
Instructions
Step 1
Since the gun is in the hands of a person, its dimensions must be correlated with the dimensions of the shooter. Ask a friend to pose for you with a weapon, or use a photo from the Internet. In this illustration, the length of the man's forearm will be used as the line to measure all parts of the gun.
Step 2
Mark the location of the person on the left side of the sheet, then draw a horizontal line against his shoulder. Draw a picture of a gun on this axis. Measure on it four segments equal to the length of the person's forearm, erase the excess part of the axis.
Step 3
From the right end of the horizontal line, set aside 1, 5 of the segment taken as a unit of measurement. The length of the weapon barrel ends at this level. To determine which part of the barrel is adjacent to the butt, add 1/7 of its length to one unit of measurement.
Step 4
Determine the width of the gun in the center of it - set aside a quarter of the unit at this level. 1/4 of this width falls on the trunk. Gradually double the width of the stock towards the left edge of the stock. This section of the gun is partially covered by the hand.
Step 5
Draw a crosshair on the end of the gun. Its cylindrical shape can be indicated by the distribution of light when you color in the drawing.
Step 6
Start working with color by defining the main tone. For the stock, mix sepia and warm light brown. Apply a thin layer of the shade to the drawing. While the paint is still wet, wash it off at the end of the stock and add a darker brown at the base.
Step 7
Paint the illuminated part of the trunk blue, blurring it at the top and darkening it at the bottom. Spread the black color over the rest of the gun, leaving the highlight, which looks like a white streak, unpainted. Add some dark blue watercolor along the flare.
