It is necessary

  • - Stencil;
  • - water-based acrylic paints;
  • - brush;
  • - foam sponge;
  • - furniture varnish.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way is to paint the furniture using a stencil. First, decide what style you want your furniture to look like. Choose a stencil accordingly. These can be geometric patterns or floral designs.

Step 2

You can purchase a stencil from an art store or make your own. Apply the design to the film and carefully cut it out with a sharp knife.

Step 3

Prepare the surface before applying the pattern. Remove dirt and grease, sand and apply several coats of primer.

Step 4

Attach the stencil to the surface to be painted with spray glue or tape. After that, proceed with the drawing process.

Step 5

Apply the drawing with acrylic paints using a brush or foam sponge. After the paint is dry, carefully remove the stencil, being careful not to tear, as it can be used several times. Now paint the ornament with a thin brush, trace the outline if you want the drawing to be clearer.

Step 6

Once the paint is dry, cover the surface with a water-based furniture varnish.

Step 7

If you have at least minimal artistic skills, let your imagination fly and paint the furniture with acrylic paints according to your tastes. Children can also paint furniture for a nursery, since these paints are odorless and non-toxic, and the process is very exciting.

Step 8

If you are not ready to transform the furniture so radically, then applications will come to your aid. With their help, you can decorate objects of any size and shape. Cut the motifs for applique from ordinary wrapping paper.

Step 9

Before applying the applique, thoroughly treat the surface and cover with one coat of furniture varnish. Then stick the design and apply another coat of varnish.
