When drawing people, the face is usually given the most attention, since it carries the maximum information about the person being portrayed. To draw a beautiful face, anatomical proportions must be observed. It is the correct proportions in human consciousness that are associated with the subjective concept of beauty.
It is necessary
- - paper and pencils or paints;
- - either a computer and a graphics editor
Instructions
Step 1
In drawing, geometric shapes are often used as a basis for drawing. For the face, this is an oval. Draw a rectangle, draw vertical and horizontal lines so that they intersect at right angles in the center of the rectangle. Include an egg-shaped oval with the tapered part down in the rectangle. Of course, there may be nuances here, because someone has a more round face, someone has a triangular or square face. Consider this when choosing the aspect ratio of the rectangle.
Step 2
The eyes will be on the median horizontal line. The distance between them, as a rule, is equal to the width of one eye, although all people are different. The eyes should be the same height and width, so use dim guide lines below and above them.
Step 3
If you draw two more horizontal lines at an equal distance from the median and from the edges of the rectangle, you get the hairline and the place of the tip of the nose. The length of the nose is approximately equal to one fourth of the vertical line, that is, the height of the face. The width and shape of the nose varies from person to person. Draw two vertical lines downward from the corners of the eyes. The nose should fit between them.
Step 4
To locate the lips, divide the bottom (from the nose to the end of the chin) into three equal lines by drawing two lines - the lips will be on the top of these lines. Divide the second section from the top (from the line of the eyes to the hairline) in half - the eyebrows will be just below this dividing line. The ears should be approximately between the eyebrow line and the base of the nose. The distance between the top of the eyebrows and the nose is equal to the distance between the nose and the chin.
Step 5
Go to detailing. Don't forget to draw the details of the eyes - mark the eyelids, tear ducts, pupils, highlights on the pupils, and the iris around the pupils. Eyelashes will liven up the eyes. Let them be natural, not perfectly the same and separate. Work on chiaroscuro - mark the cheekbones, chin and forehead, possibly dimples. Draw the chin, for different people it may be more pointed, square or smoothed, with or without a dimple. It is the shadows and highlights that give the drawn face volume and realism. To draw the skin texture realistically, you can study the tutorials on shading, etc.
Step 6
When drawing hair, consider styling how it lies. Don't forget about highlights and shadows, about tone transitions. The human hairline is never sharply expressed, from thin and short hairs on the temples, they become thicker and longer towards the scalp.
Step 7
When drawing details, you can look at someone's photo to better understand the structure of a human face, the location of shadows and highlights. If you like, try to copy the eyes or some other element from the photo. Having mastered drawing a face in front, you can proceed to drawing a profile and a tilted head.
