A cut-out in the form of a toe can be found both in knitted and in garments - blouses, dresses, vests. It is not difficult to process it, but it must be done carefully, since all the flaws will be very clearly visible.

It is necessary

  • - details of the dress;
  • - fabric for tailoring;
  • - scissors;
  • - crayon;
  • - sewing accessories.

Instructions

Step 1

Such a cut is usually cut on an almost finished product. In any case, before you start processing the cutout, you need to cut out a dress or blouse, sew the side and shoulder seams.

Step 2

Mark the depth of the cut on the centerline of the front. On the wrong side of the garment, connect this point to the beginning of each of the shoulder seams. At this stage, it is better not to stitch the lines, but simply circle them with chalk or soap along the ruler.

Step 3

Make an incision from the neckline to the marked point on the shelf. Try on the product. Adjust the depth of the cut if necessary. Do not cut the toe out yet.

Step 4

Cut out the trims along the marked lines for the neckline. To do this, put a piece of the same fabric under the cutout, aligning the wrong sides of the parts. Place a "snare" seam along the line, then cut the stitches and carefully separate the parts. Draw on the "snare" lines. You now have a corner. Draw lines parallel to the existing ones, at a distance of 4-5 cm from them. Cut out the part.

Step 5

Make a cut for the back as well. It is an arc. Sweep the trims along the shoulder seams and stitch.

Step 6

Fold the blanks right over. The bottom edge of the cut piece can be folded right over to the wrong side and ironed.

Step 7

Baste the resulting detail to a dress or blouse along the marked cutout line. The corners and the shoulder seams must match. Sharpen the details. Make a notch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the seam.

Step 8

Cut the corners of the cut and main parts, leaving 0.2 cm to the seam, so that the fabric in these places does not gather and puff up. Unscrew the trim to the wrong side of the dress and press the seam down.

Step 9

Baste the outside edge of the trim. Stitch it on and iron it.

Step 10

Such a cut can be finished with piping. Cut out a cross section of the fabric. Its length is equal to the length of all seams of the cutout, its width is twice the width of the edging in finished form, plus 1 cm for the seams. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right side out, and press the fold. In this case, the cutout on the dress is made as soon as you connect the side and shoulder seams. Cut out the trim piece as well.

Step 11

Baste the piping around the entire perimeter of the cutout. This is done on the front side of the product. Align the edge and cutout cuts.

Step 12

Place the trim piece on top, wrong side up. Align the corner of the neckline, shoulder seams. Baste the trim and stitch on. Iron the seam from the front.

Step 13

Fold the free edge of the trim piece to the wrong side and iron it as in the previous method, then baste it and stitch it on.
