A cute knitted hat that everyone pays attention to is a real reason for the needlewoman to be proud. This piece of clothing is always in sight, because its implementation requires special skill. If you learn how to properly reduce the loops in the hat, you can create different models - from simple round products to fun caps with pompoms.

It is necessary

  • Circular knitting needles
  • Two straight knitting needles
  • Yarn
  • Side seam needle
  • Hook
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors

Instructions

Step 1

Learn to reduce stitches in a simple round hat. Your task is to knit the product with circular knitting needles with the main pattern to a height of about 12-16 cm. The beginning of the decrease (rounding of the model) is calculated individually. To do this, you need to try on a loose hat on your head.

Step 2

Decrease knit rows. For example, after every ten loops, knit two loops at once at the same time. In the next front row, make decreases, counting 8 loops. Thus, knit together two loops on every second working row through 6, 4 loops, etc. As a result, you should have a ring of 10-12 stitches.

Step 3

Gather the remaining loops with a double-folded thread of the same color and pull the top of the cap tight. Using a crochet hook, drag the remaining ponytail to the inside of the knit.

Step 4

Try decreasing the loops in the cap. You will get a narrower and shorter cap if you start gradual decreases in the cap almost from the very beginning of knitting. So, knit about 4 cm of cloth with garter stitch or 1x1 elastic band on two knitting needles. Now you can create a model of the "Pinocchio" type, alternating colored stripes, or choose any other pattern.

Step 5

Start immediately knitting two stitches together from the front of the garment. Make reductions at equal intervals in every third row. So remove one loop 5 times; then four loops 3 times. Continue until you have only a dozen stitches left on the knitting needles - this will be about 30 cm from the start of work.

Step 6

Pass the cut working thread through the open loops and pull off the top of the model. Sew the sides of the knitted hat together.

Step 7

For a wider and longer cap, you need to knit 20-25 centimeters of linen, and only then begin to reduce the loops in the cap. At the beginning and at the end of each row, you need to knit two loops together. So continue to do in every sixth working front row. Pull off the remaining top of 10-12 loops, as in the previous cases.
