If you have unnecessary newspapers at home, do not throw them away ahead of time or take them to your dacha for making a fire. After all, from them you can make several beautiful and useful things in the household, for example, several baskets. These baskets can be used to decorate a country house, kitchen, or use them to pick berries, mushrooms and other small things.

It is necessary

  • Several newspapers, magazines, or colored paper;
  • Stapler with staples or glue for fixing paper strips;
  • Scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

It takes about 20 newspapers to make a medium-sized basket. Cut each sheet in half, fold the halves lengthwise to create many narrow strips. One sheet of newspaper should make about 40 strips.

Step 2

Now fold the pieces of newspaper in half and lengthwise, then again in a quarter along the length, after that already eight times. This will give you fairly thick paper ribbons. The width and number of these ribbons can be varied - it all depends on the shape and size of the future basket.

Step 3

The material is ready. It is better to start weaving the basket from the center and to the edges. Use glue or a stapler to hold it together. The adhesive should be applied in dots. And the staple brackets can be removed at the end of the work.

Step 4

After the bottom of your basket is ready, start shaping its walls. Bend the wall at a right angle and braid it in long strips in a circle, making them from the previously prepared strips, fixing with glue or a stapler.

Step 5

When the basket is finished, you will notice that the last row does not look very pretty. The protruding ends of the paper strips need to be “veiled”. To do this, bend the paper edge and secure it with glue, putting it on the edge of the basket on top of the basket.
