Valentina Matvienko is a pharmacist by profession, she studied first at the medical faculty in one of the Ukrainian schools, and then entered the pharmaceutical institute in Leningrad. The girl changed direction and graduated from the Academy of Social Sciences.

Valentina married in the fifth year of the institute for Vladimir Vasilyevich Matvienko. He came to Leningrad from Belarus to enter the local chemical and pharmaceutical institute.
