Even pictures taken in a photo studio with optimal lighting often need retouching. The techniques used when processing a photograph largely depend on the image being edited, but the first stage of working with a photo is to identify fragments of the image that need retouching. Having identified the strengths and weaknesses of the image, you can start choosing the editing tools.

Instructions
Step 1
The task that most often has to be performed when processing images is related to the elimination of defects and unevenness of the skin while maintaining the texture of the image. To achieve the best result, it is worth bringing all the correction to separate layers, the transparency of which can be changed at the final stage of editing.
Step 2
To process skin imperfections in the image loaded into the graphics editor, create a new layer using the Layer option in the New group of the Layer menu and turn on the Healing Brush tool. Check the Sample all layers checkbox. This will allow you to use the pixels below the transparent new layer that you just created as the copy source.
Step 3
While holding down the Alt button, click on the normal part of the image that is as close as possible to the defect that needs to be eliminated. After determining the cloning source, click on the area containing the defect. Scale the image through the Navigator panel so that you can clearly see the small details in the picture. Make the diameter of the Healing Brush smaller, this will help preserve the original texture of the image, of course, if it was present in the picture.
Step 4
The Clone Stamp tool will help to remove hair that is out of the hairstyle and roughness of the background. Adjust it in the same way as with the Healing Brush. Create a new layer for the correction results.
Step 5
Quite often, it becomes necessary to change the color of certain areas of a photograph. To do this, create an adjustment layer with the Curves filter using the Curves option from the New Adjustment Layer group of the Layer menu. In the settings window that opens, adjust the image so that the area you are editing takes on the desired appearance. You can ignore what happens to the rest of the snapshot.
Step 6
By default, adjustment layers are created with masks in a mode that allows the filter to affect the entire image on the layers below the adjustment layer. To narrow down the area of effect of the adjustment, click on the mask and apply the Invert option to it in the Adjustments group of the Image menu.
Step 7
Turn on the Brush Tool and paint over with white the parts of the mask that are above the parts of the image to which you want to apply the correction. If you want to reduce the effect of the filter, lower the Opacity parameter of the Brush tool. Using an adjustment layer with a mask, you can even out the color in the photo and brighten the overly shaded areas of the photo.
Step 8
Despite all precautions, the texture of the image after correction may appear slightly blurred. To restore it, add a small amount of grain to the image. To do this, create a new layer by choosing Soft Light from the Mode drop-down list in the dialog box. In the Fill with Soft-Light-neutral color checkbox, you will need to check the box.
Step 9
Add noise to the created layer using the Add Noise option of the Noise group of the Filter menu. In order to make the texture a little more embossed, apply the Emboss filter from the Stylize group to the layer.
Step 10
Remove noise from eyes, lips and hair in the picture. To do this, add a mask to the noise layer with the Reveal All option from the New Layer Mask group of the Layer menu and paint over the mask fragments located above those parts of the picture from which you want to remove noise with a black brush.
Step 11
Using the Save As option on the File menu, save the snapshot with all layers to a psd file. At any time, you can change the degree of photo correction without redoing the entire work from the very beginning. Save the snapshot to.jpg"
