Adding background music is a very important step in creating a presentation. The right sound can liven up your presentation and help you win over your audience. Microsoft Power Point software provides ample opportunities for creating musical design for slides.
Instructions
Step 1
Open a presentation in Microsoft Power Point or create a new one - you can add music to an already finished presentation, or you can add it as you create it. The first option is more convenient, because you will already know how your presentation looks in the end in order to match sound to it, besides, unnecessary elements like the sound icon will not interfere with your creation.
Step 2
Select the audio file you want to add (it must be in MP3, WAV, MIDI, AIFF, AU, WMA format). You can choose a standard sound from the Office collection, or you can choose your own by downloading it from your computer. Select in the top menu "Insert" - "Movies and sound" - "Sound from file", select the sound you need. By the way, make sure that the slide on which you are going to add sound is selected in the column on the left. If you want to add a standard sound, then select the item "Sound from the collection of pictures …". This program also supports the function of direct sound recording from a computer - this will allow you to create voice comments for your presentation.
Step 3
Now set up the playback of the inserted music. It is at this stage that you will notice that it is better to add sound to the finished presentation. Before adding sound, you will see a window asking whether to play sound automatically or on click. Choose the option you want. Later you can correct this parameter. Right-click the sound icon and select Animation Settings from the drop-down menu. The animation control panel in the presentation appears on the right side of the screen. Select the item with your sound there, click the arrow next to it and select "Effect Options". In the window that appears, select from which and on which slide this music will play, how it will end (automatically or by clicking), adjust the sound volume. If you want the same music to play from the beginning to the end of the presentation, select "Playback" - "From the beginning", and in the "Finish" option set the number of the last slide.
Step 4
To hide the sound icon on the slide, right-click on it, select Change Sound Object - Hide Sound Icon During Show.
