A lighthouse is a special block in Minecraft that can have positive effects on players if certain conditions are met. To turn on the beacon, you need to collect a fairly large amount of resources.
Construction principle
For the lighthouse to work, it is necessary to build a structure in the form of a pyramid under it, the number of effects and the strength of the impact of the lighthouse depend on its size. In addition, there should not be any opaque blocks above the beacon block itself, otherwise it simply will not turn on.
The pyramid under the lighthouse must consist of certain blocks. These can be blocks of iron, diamonds, emeralds or gold. All four types of blocks can be used in one pyramid, this will not affect the final effect in any way. After installing the lighthouse at the very top of the pyramid, a very bright column of light will begin to emerge from it. The higher the pyramid, the stronger the lighthouse will ultimately be.
To gain access to all possible effects, you need to build a four-story (excluding the lighthouse) pyramid. In this case, the first layer should be a rectangle of 9X9 blocks, the second - 7X7, the third - 5X5, the fourth - 3X3, the lighthouse itself is used as the fifth level (1X1 size). To build such a pyramid, you will need 164 blocks. Note that one block includes nine units of each resource, that is, one iron block consists of nine iron ingots, and one diamond block consists of nine diamonds, so a lot of resources will be spent on the maximum pyramid. It is possible to build a two-level pyramid with the base of a 3X3 block, but the effect of such a lighthouse will be much less.
Turning on the beacon
After installing the beacon, right-click on it. One of the following items must be placed in the appeared empty cell - a gold or iron ingot, a diamond, an emerald. After that, a list of available effects will open, which depends on the height of the pyramid, in it you need to select one of the options.
The effects that are applied to the player last for a finite time. If the player does not move beyond a certain distance from the pyramid, this effect can last indefinitely, periodically resetting the counter. For a one-step small pyramid, this distance cannot exceed 16 blocks, for a two-step pyramid - 24, for a three-step pyramid - 32 and for the largest four-step pyramid - 40. It should be borne in mind that the height distance is also taken into account.
On multiplayer servers, the effects from the beacon are received by all players within the radius of the pyramid, such beacons are often set at zero coordinates, at the point of entry into the game.
