Everyone's favorite folk holiday Maslenitsa ends on Sunday with the burning of a effigy of winter. The scarecrow represents the passing winter - Marena. Usually this large, dressed-up straw doll is hoisted onto a pole and burned over a large fire. How and from what to make a stuffed animal of winter so that it burns cheerfully?
It is necessary
Two dry wooden blocks, a hammer, nails, straw, dry grass, cardboard, light linen bags for the head and pens, a scarf and a dress
Instructions
Step 1
Make a scarecrow like a garden scarecrow. Take two dry sticks. One is longer, a scarecrow will stand on it. The second short bar will be the hands. Knock down the bars with a cross.
Step 2
The most actively burning material is straw and paper. Take straw, paper, or dry grass and tie it with string (paper twine) to the cross, forming the body of the scarecrow. If the doll is planned to be small, and you cannot find straw or grass, start up a couple of brooms for combustion.
Step 3
For the head, you can use a light linen bag. Fill the bag with straw or grass and sew it at the bottom. If there is no bag, you can simply wrap the straw with white paper. Tie a bright scarf over the head of the stuffed animal. He will hold the paper. The ends of the scarf can be used to fix the head of the scarecrow on the body.
Step 4
Dress up the stuffed animal in a sundress or old dress. If the grass falls out of the scarecrow, you can sew up the hem of the dress from below. If you want to make the scarecrow more believable, stuff two small linen bags with grass and put them on the ends of the stick - these will be the hands. Pull the sleeves down and tie them to hide the bag ties.
Step 5
If desired, paint the face of the oil maiden. Ruddy cheeks and scarlet lips will contrast with white snow. But draw the eyes of the stuffed beauty, as usual, closed.
Step 6
From white or yellowish fabric or thick paper, weave two braids for the stuffed animal. Attach them underneath the scarf. Tie bright paper ribbons at the ends. Stick the finished oil doll into the snow.
