The sun is a very bright object even to the naked eye. The admonition of adults in our childhood "Don't look at the sun" has very reasonable grounds. The sun's rays can damage the retina of your eyes, so watch it carefully.

If you use devices for observing the Sun, then they must be equipped with special filters. The telescope significantly increases the intensity of the flow of sunlight. Key rule! Do not use a telescope, binoculars, or other optical equipment without special filters.
Step 2
Use a sunscreen if there are no filters. Project the image of the Sun onto its surface.
Step 3
If you want to photograph the Sun, then apply filters in the same manner. Firstly, without them, the camera will deteriorate, and secondly, there is a high probability that the film and the camera body itself will catch fire.
Step 4
Even if you are using a screen, do not expose your head or other body parts to the light beam. You run the risk of deep burns that are difficult to treat.
Step 5
Remember not to leave a telescope that is pointed at the Sun without your personal supervision. If at this moment the telescope is without an eyepiece, the danger will only increase. Any object caught in a beam of sunlight will ignite.
Step 6
If you have a telescope with a large diameter lens, you need to diaphragm it. After all, such a large lens constantly collects a large amount of light, which sooner or later will entail overheating of the eyepiece and diagonal mirror. There is a threat that the optics will burst. In this case, the fragments can cause irreparable damage to your vision, injure your head.
Step 7
Allow the telescope to cool down periodically as you work with the screen. Excessive loading without filters can quickly damage the equipment. Make sure the filters are securely attached to the lens barrel before each observation. Your negligence in relation to your own health may cause the filter to fall and you will lose your eyesight from retinal burns.
Step 8
Always use covers to cover the guide, finder and all telescope optics. Although the finder is a small telescope, it is just as dangerous if a beam of light bounced off of it hits you or others.
