A skateboard, or, as it is shortly called, a skate, is a board on four wheels, sometimes even with shock absorbers, but more often just on a rigid suspension. Originating as a hobby, skateboarding has become a favorite sport for many people, to which they devote all their free time.

It is necessary

  • - skateboard;
  • - flat ground for initial training;
  • - protective uniform (knee pads, elbow pads, helmet).

Instructions

Step 1

To skateboard, first learn how to balance. It is necessary to find such a position of the body in which the inclination of the body at different angles would not lead to a fall from the skateboard. The muscles of the body should not be pinched, since, firstly, the sensitivity and endurance of the muscles is lost, and secondly, it is not possible to correctly distribute the weight. It is not at all necessary to go outside for the first time. Place the skate in a place in your apartment where there is no risk of breaking or knocking over something. Feel the board, try to move on it and make light swinging movements.

Step 2

Start riding in parks where there are relatively few people and no cars. Find a level, preferably asphalted area. Put on protective clothing for riding: knee pads, helmet and elbow pads. Place one foot on the board just above the front casters. Push off with the other foot. When you feel that the skate has picked up some speed, put your other foot on the skateboard. Focus on your feelings and try not to fall.

Step 3

To stop, take one foot off the skateboard and brake. True, this method can only be used for a flat surface. Therefore, the most reliable way of braking is with the board itself. To do this, you need to lean back, forcing the skate to raise the nose, and gradually increase the pressure on the back of the board.

Step 4

Learn to turn on a skateboard. To do this, place an object on the ground and practice, trying to move in a circle. The turn on the skateboard can be either sharp or smooth. For a smooth turn, extend your foot forward onto the bow of the skateboard and gently press the board to the left or right. Fast, sharp turns are somewhat acrobatic in nature. Press down on the back of the board and make its nose come up. Try balancing on your rear wheels while turning the bow of the skateboard in the direction you want.
