Hand-forged ornaments, graceful lattices, flowers and decorative panels have always been very popular with connoisseurs of art. Today, forged plants and flowers can decorate any metal product, giving it elegance and lightness. In addition, a forged rose can become an independent gift that will be remembered by any person for many years.

It is necessary

  • - cylindrical metal blank / sheet metal;
  • - hammer;
  • - anvil.

Instructions

Step 1

To make a forged rose, use a cylindrical blank made of a material that lends itself well to forging. The diameter of the cylinder should be slightly less than the planned diameter of the rose. Stretch one side of the cylinder over the square, and use the remaining side to make the petals.

Step 2

Divide the remaining part into three parts and make notches on it directed to the axis of the cylinder, so that you get three layers of metal, overlapping each other. Deposit all layers of notches to 2mm thickness and size.

Step 3

Now make the petals, cutting towards the center so that the petals go over each other. Rivet the petals on the anvil and place in the bud. Make three layers of petals, making sure that the outer petals are the largest, the middle ones are small, and the inner petals are the smallest.

Step 4

The outer petals should be regular and straight to match the appearance of a real living rose. After making the bud and giving it the desired shape, begin to shape the stem stretched across the square. Preheat the stem and give it a natural curving shape. Work on the stem-to-bud connection to complete the rose's look.

Step 5

You can also make a metal rose from a separate sheet metal, but it will turn out to be less graceful and beautiful than a rose forged from a solid metal cylinder. On the center spike, join the individually cut rosettes of five petals into a single flower using forge welding. Perform all subsequent actions in the same way as described above.

Step 6

Another way to forge a rose is piece by piece. Make three metal balls with stems, the diameter of which is 1, 5, 2, 2.5 cm. From each ball it is necessary to forge a sheet so that the metal is thinner at the edges and thicker in the middle. Next, fold these sheets together and tie. Make nine of these. Next, weld the petals to a metal wire about 8 mm in diameter. Weld the smaller petals first, and the larger ones last, so that the rose looks more aesthetically pleasing and believable.
