Phoenix is a bird of all-consuming fire and flame. In some sources she is called the progenitor of sinister dragons, in others - the messenger of the sun and the "sister" of the firebird. Whoever this creature is, there are a lot of myths and legends around the immortal fiery creature. If you want to depict this wonderful bird on your canvas, remember some of the features that always accompany the phoenix.
Instructions
Step 1
Start by drawing the basics. Here you need to be guided only by your own desires. Depending on its size, posture, and so on, draw the frame of a large bird - an oval body, small skinny legs, a semicircular head slowly passing from shoulders to wings.
Step 2
You can highlight only two features that distinguish the phoenix from the rest of the birds. First, the beak has a rather long shape, but at the same time it is slightly pointed in the form of a hook. Second, the wings can be made a little larger at the request of the author. An ordinary bird would become disproportionate, but thanks to the fiery plumage, this will be smoothed out.
Step 3
Draw tongues of flame. Perhaps the most difficult stage. The phoenix has no feathers, no muscle ligaments, or other things that usually have to be very painstakingly drawn. However, drawing a naturally fiery plumage will also not be easy. Start with a shared fire, as if a bird were on fire. And to show that this is her normal state, draw several tongues of flame at the tips of the wings in the form of separate feathers. This will imitate that the bird is literally "overgrown" with fire.
Step 4
Increase the native fire effect on the beak and paws. It is in these places that the fire should not "walk" over the body of the bird. It should be as if "tucked" under the beak and claws. It will look very impressive.
Step 5
Reflect the unique look of the phoenix. You will hardly find works where the bird is painted with a soft and pleasant look. This does not mean that you need to draw evil diamond-like red slits, but anime-style eyes are clearly not suitable here either. Check out a couple of photos of Indian chiefs. They have a wise and intense look. This is quite a good option for a firebird god.
