Each child will be interested in running with a butterfly net. A net can be purchased at a children's toy store or at a pet store. In addition, the net is easy to make with your own hands.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a wooden net handle. Its diameter should be approximately 10-15 mm. The surface of the handle must be carefully processed so as not to splinter your hands.
Step 2
Now cut a piece of steel wire about 0.7-1 meters long. The wire diameter must be at least 3 mm. Now you need to make an arc. A tree trunk of a suitable size is best suited for this. In principle, the shape of the net does not have to be round. Nets are very different: rectangular, square, and triangular. However, it is better to give it the shape of a circle. A circle is a geometric shape that, with a minimum perimeter, takes up the maximum area. Otherwise, we can say that it will be necessary to use more wire and fabric for a square net, with the same net area. In addition, corners reduce rigidity. The ring is the most rigid figure. The presence of corners accompanies the rapid deterioration of the fabric.
Step 3
The hoop must be made taking into account the fact that the ends with a total length of 10-15 centimeters should remain. Of these, you must construct two shoulders designed to attach the hoop to the net handle. One shoulder should be slightly longer than the other. Bend them down perpendicular to the circumference of the hoop. The ends of the shoulders must be bent at right angles to the inside of the structure. But remember that this whole structure must lie in the same plane.
Step 4
After making the hoop, attach it to the handle. Drill two holes one centimeter deep in it. These holes must be drilled from the end of the handle at distances equal to the lengths of the arms. In addition, the thickness of the wire should exceed the diameter of the wire by about 0.5 cm. This is done for the most reliable connection. the ends of the hoop are hammered into the prepared holes. The shoulders of the net should fit snugly against the handle. Now you need to secure them. To do this, tie them with wire to the handle.
Step 5
It remains to make a bag. A soft cloth such as gauze is suitable for this. It is better to sew the bag so that there are a minimum number of corners in it. This is necessary so that insects do not clog in them. In order to attach the finished bag to the hoop, you need to take a tape of strong fabric about ten centimeters wide, fold it in half along the length and put it on the hoop. Sew a bag from the bottom to this tape. The landing net is ready!
