Minimal - from English "minimal" - a kind of electronic music and dance to this music. This music and dance subculture is characterized by simple arrangements and melodies, a small variety of thematic material, and a small set of movements. There are several subspecies of minimalist dance.
Instructions
Step 1
Minimal techno is the most extreme manifestation of minimalism, the music is based on repeated repetition of themes and beats. Microhouse, or minimal techno house, is a little more dynamic and varied, using elements of ambient music. Minimal trance, or neotrans, is similar to normal trance music, but at a slower pace. In the music of all these styles, a minimal set of sounds is used, pauses and "voids" are actively used.
Step 2
Like all other dances to techno music, minimal is based on improvisation - the dancer makes bundles from movements familiar to him, organizes them according to his taste and in accordance with the movement of the music. But, since the accompaniment does not differ in mobility and dynamism, complex elements in the dance can also be excluded. Relevant penetrations ("walking in place"), smooth movements of the hands, measured swaying of the body.
Step 3
Since the minimalist direction has existed for only about ten years, there is no solid canon and a constant set of movements in it. Each dancer creates something of his own, brings from other styles: break, hip-hop, modern jazz, oriental dances and even ballet. Therefore, when creating your dance, use all the movements you know with one small caveat: they must correspond to the smooth, meditative rhythm of the music, that is, be cyclical, not overly harsh.
