It is necessary
Any light elegant fabric, fabric for lining and petticoat, dress decorations, sewing accessories
Instructions
Step 1
Make a pattern. The dress consists of a round yoke, which plays the role of the upper part, as well as the back and front halves of the dress. Make both halves flared. Remember small armholes. The wider the hem of the dress, the better the fabric looks under the yoke. To draw up a pattern, remove all measurements from the child and transfer them to millimeter cloth.
Step 2
On fabric with lining and reinforcing glue, cut out a round yoke. Sew the back and front of the yoke, but not completely. This is necessary in order to make it more convenient to sew the hem to the yoke.
Step 3
Open the hem. It is better to do it with a petticoat to make the dress lush. Work the armholes first at the front and then at the back.
Step 4
Pleat at the top edge of the hem. This is done using the gathering foot. Place the top edge of the hem between the seamy side and the front side of the yoke. Then sew the hem along with the yoke. When you sew the hem to the yoke, make sure that the two sides are sewn symmetrically. To do this, mark the yoke from the inside out with a tailor's chalk. Carefully mark the sides and middle, then re-stitch the yoke hem.
Step 5
Follow the same steps with the second half of the yoke.
Step 6
Sew the seams on the sides of the dress. Do this from the bottom of the hem to the armhole. If desired, the hem of the dress can be decorated with ruffles and flounces, sewn on beads, applique or beads. Also, the dress can be decorated with beautiful embroidery. The girl will be happy to wear such a dress, because it is sewn by her mother's hands, which means it is saturated with warmth and love.
