Children's sweaters, knitted, are beautiful and very comfortable. Usually they are made free, without shaped lines, so they do not constrain movements and can replace a windbreaker for a child in cool weather. The front closure makes it easy to put on such a thing, even for a baby.

It is necessary

  • - yarn;
  • - knitting needles;
  • - buttons.

Instructions

Step 1

Decide what kind of sweater you want to knit. Should it be tight or thin, smart or casual. Choose a knitting pattern accordingly. Build a product pattern. The easiest way to do this will be by taking a measurement from a ready-made children's sweater.

Step 2

Choose a yarn of the required texture and color. For everyday sweaters, melange yarn of sectional dyeing or with additions of colored blotches is suitable. Thin monochromatic thread is good for products made with an openwork pattern.

Step 3

Cast on 25-35 stitches and knit. Calculate the number of stitches per 10 cm of knitting and calculate how many stitches are needed for your size. For example, if 10 cm of knitting is 28 loops, then 70 loops are required for the back of a 25 cm wide product.

Step 4

Knit the details of the jacket in the following sequence: back, right and left shelf, sleeves. Start each piece with an elastic band. Thanks to this, the product will keep its shape better and will not stretch longer. Instead of an elastic band, you can use garter knitting or "spider web" - a pattern of front and back stitches, staggered.

Step 5

Complete the trims of the shelves with garter stitch or cobweb. On one of the planks, make several buttonholes evenly spaced apart. Usually hinges are placed on the left side for boys and on the right side for girls. If you plan to sew in a zipper, you do not need to make loops.

Step 6

Assemble the product. Start with the shoulder seams. Sew on the sleeves. Sew side seams. Tie the neck. Now you can complete the exterior: sew on buttons, pockets, etc. If desired, crochet the sweater around the edges.
